What we need

• Corresponding with stakeholders involved in the production of the film
• Coordinate the follow ups with queries and logistics for the Screenwriter/Director (book venues, contact potential partners and collaborators) and any other ad hoc duties pertaining to the film production as required
• Scheduling meetings where required then print and distribute paperwork (e.g. scripts, call sheets)
• Help with preparation of the set (ex. lighting, props and equipments etc)
• Assisting other crew members to undertake errands as designed

Background

Grassroots Future is a registered charity looking at empowering grassroots movements and building capacity in the refugee and asylum seeker community. We are looking for volunteers to help with the production of a short film, written by a member of the community in Hong Kong. The film project covers many social issues related to race, judgments based on nationality, stereotypes based on appearance, conflict, humanity, the influence of the media in shaping ignorance towards others. The film will feature talents from all corners of Hong Kong society through acting, music, art and more.

Why this is important

Grassroots Future is trying to amplify refugee voices and assist creative people in the community to have a platform to share their stories through different media. This is a truly unique opportunity to get involved in a film project that covers important social issues.
