Run and facilitate a kids arts and crafts workshop while their parents are attending our education programs
We are running a sustainable fashion program for the parents of these children, they will be occupied for 2-3 hours while they learn different units for this accelerator program. The children will also be on site and need to be engaged in an activity at the same time.
We will source craft materials for the instructor (yarn, pompom makers, markers, pencils, crayons etc).
We would like to give children a meaningful activity and chance to be creative as extracurriculars are not readily available to refugee and asylum seeker children, in particular to explore their creativity.

Grassroots Future looks at empowering grassroots movements and building capacity in the refugee and asylum seeker community. We achieve this through the following model: Education: Supporting the needs of young people and adults through training, mentorship, workshops and general skills training to improve capacity and self sufficiency. Community outreach: Community outreach and cultural events, which are curated by the refugee community, to engage different groups within society. Well-being: Provide safe spaces for healing and mental well-being through the arts and recreational activities. Investing in the future: Supporting the educational expenses of children through our event programming.
