What we need

• Join a 30mins call to learn about the goals of our Effective Giving initiative and discuss workflow
• Help our blog/ article copywriter translate their content from English to Chinese
• Deliverables: website article, blog post (500 to 1000 words every 1 to 2 weeks)
• Complete 4 to 6 articles in 2 months, depending on capacity
• Honorarium of HK$500 will be provided

Background

Effective Giving is a new initiative of Effective Altruism Hong Kong. The website provides a localized version of a successful donation platform. It offers educational material and personalized advice to help people in Hong Kong maximize the impact with their charitable donations. You will be joining a small volunteer team to translate our educational materials for donors to understand extraordinary donation opportunities and their impact potential.The content team will develop localized articles and blogs related to effective donations for educational and informational purposes for potential donors. The translation team will help translate localized articles/ blog posts produced by our content writers from English to Chinese for publication.Topics include: donation advice, global poverty, global health, climate change, animal welfare, and education.We aim to translate 1 English article/ blog post with 500 to 1000 words every 1 to 2 weeks, a total of 4 to 6 articles in around 2 months.

What we have

An opportunity to join an ambitious project to help others achieve 100x impact with their donations. Regular contact with our content lead. A certificate of completion. At the end of the project, there may be an opportunity to have 1-1/ small group meetings with local and global experts in Effective Altruism to discuss how you can maximize your impact. Honorarium: HK$500

Why this is important

When money is directed with rigour, evidence, and ambition towards the world's pressing and neglected problems, there is potential to generate 100x the impact compared to an average charity.Developing localized content in Chinese is crucial to connecting local donors to support effective charities, ultimately empowering more people to do good better.
