  • Conduct quality tests and categorize incoming donations of household items
  • Inventory, pack and palletize items ready for shipment
  • Supervise short term volunteers
  • Help with the tracking of goods and data entry
  • Carrying out any additional tasks required by the Household Goods Processing Manager
  • Our full time staff are all volunteers, so your contribution will be highly appreciated and crucially required. A minimum attendance of 3 days a week (preferably Fri/Sat/Sun) for 3 months is required
Background

The Household Department processes a multitude of household items ranging from bowls and plates to cribs and baby items.

What we have

Training will be provided, as will all the relevant equipment. A manager will be there to guide the volunteer throughout the process. Full-day volunteers are also more than welcome to stay for lunch!

Why this is important

Whether it's a warm blanket or a set of cooking supplies, what may seem mundane could save someone else's life. The Household Department packs and categorizes goods such that the right items go to the most needy.

What we do

Crossroads Foundation is a Hong Kong based, non-profit organisation serving global need. We believe that, in a broken world that sees too much suffering, we should do all we can to link those who are in need with those who can provide help. So we provide an intersection, literally a crossroads, to bring both together. • Global Distribution: This distributes Hong Kong's quality excess goods as needed, internationally and locally. It provides a crossroads between need and supply. • Global X-perience: This offers simulated x-periences of global need. It provides a crossroads between the lifestyles of the rich and poor. • Global Handicrafts: This sells fair trade goods from people in poverty. It is a crossroads between those needing a fair income and those with buying power. • Global Hand: This provides a 'matching' website for public- private partnerships. It is a crossroads between for-profit and non-profit organizations who wish to address global need.
