What we need
  • Join briefing call ( around 1-2 hours)
  • Coordinate with CCCD staff for website design and the uploading of theatre videos on to the webpage
  • Develop a simple and beautiful website to upload video records of the Spice Road project with any platform/language the volunteer is comfortable with (Wix/SquareSpace/Padlet/WindowSwap, etc.)
  • Once website is created, teach CCCD staff on how to maintain the site
  • The volunteer can get the chance to meet with the Spice Road artists and director if he/ she is interested in theatre work.
Background

Spice Road project has assembled 9 artists from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Nepal, India, Egypt, Uganda, Germany, France and Peru, each making a theatre solo about food and their local struggle under the pandemic in their local contexts. Besides the online solo performance, we have organized a series of theatre activities including conference, theatre workshops, master classes, etc. This website is to be developed to store the video records of all these activities. At the same time, allow website visitors to interact with artists.

What we have

(1) Background of the project, necessary contact points, videos to be uploaded, etc. (2) All necessary expenses involved in the domain registration, platform/tool subscription, etc.

Why this is important

It would help us to continue to promote the Spice Road programme not just in Hong Kong, but to the wider audience across the globe.

What we do

Centre for Community Cultural Development (CCCD) is a pioneering non-profit arts organization founded by a group of social workers and artists (visual arts, theatre, community arts) in 2004. As a member of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, and a three-year grantee of Hong Kong Arts Development Council, CCCD believes in “Arts for all”, ”Arts Empowerment”, ”Arts Inclusion”. We promote and practice community culture and arts and are dedicated to embrace diversity. Through a variety of community cultural development projects within and beyond the local community, we explore the creative potential and cultural resources of people, and thus cultivate personal qualities, empower individuals and equip them to face social changes. Over the past decade, CCCD has organized more than 1000 programmes including workshops, overseas exchanges, seminars, performances and arts festivals. We are committed to collaborating with communities to initiate different community arts projects to explore and unleash the creative potential and cultural resources of the people. Our mission is to facilitate everyone to appreciate, create and perform arts.
