Background

The First Hong Kong International Inclusive Dance Festival (June - July 2023). The first and ever Inclusive Dance Festival is an original, exciting large-scale event showcasing the inclusive dance activities from Hong Kong and all over the world. Our mission is to further remove barriers between those with and without disabilities through dance and movement, coming together for artistic exploration and community building, raising awareness and acting as a catalyst for a more inclusive world. This year, we had invited 11 independent artists and organizations to hold diverse, inclusive and in-depth workshops for all. In the activities that stretch over a month, we not only look back to the history and achievements of Inclusive Dance throughout past decades, but also explore future possibilities to this authentic and immensely creative art form in Hong Kong.

What we do

Centre for Community Cultural Development (CCCD) is a pioneering non-profit arts organization founded by a group of social workers and artists (visual arts, theatre, community arts) in 2004. As a member of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, and a three-year grantee of Hong Kong Arts Development Council, CCCD believes in “Arts for all”, ”Arts Empowerment”, ”Arts Inclusion”. We promote and practice community culture and arts and are dedicated to embrace diversity. Through a variety of community cultural development projects within and beyond the local community, we explore the creative potential and cultural resources of people, and thus cultivate personal qualities, empower individuals and equip them to face social changes. Over the past decade, CCCD has organized more than 1000 programmes including workshops, overseas exchanges, seminars, performances and arts festivals. We are committed to collaborating with communities to initiate different community arts projects to explore and unleash the creative potential and cultural resources of the people. Our mission is to facilitate everyone to appreciate, create and perform arts.
