Toby W. is volunteering as Legal Advisor / Consultant for The New Normal Charity
We provide free mental health peer support groups. Our groups are hosted by trained facilitators with lived experience. Peer-to-peer support is a format that The New Normal Charity has proudly adopted from inception. We feel that one of best forms of therapy is to talk to others with similar life experiences. We have been helping people through life’s difficult moments for over three years now- facilitating conversations between individuals who find themselves in very similar positions. Our mission is to make sure no one feels alone no matter what they are going through.

Born and Bred in Hong Kong, I chose to pursue a Chinese law degree in Beijing and an English law degree in London after completing my secondary education locally. I am now a Hong Kong-qualified solicitor who passed the China National Judicial Examination. I am currently working at a securities firm as an in-house lawyer, providing advice on finance, corporate, commercial, employment, and other areas of law. In addition to my practice, I write about and deliver seminars on different legal issues, including those relating to constitutional, banking and finance laws. I have also been serving on several committees and working parties of the Law Society of Hong Kong, and have recently been appointed as an advisor to the board of a UK-based charity, advising on legal and governmental affairs. While Cantonese is my mother tongue, I speak fluent English and Mandarin.
