About Transience Music Festival

Transience Music Festival is the closing event of the two-year project, “Ensemble Transience: Composition & Improvisation—Encore”. Through a variety of activities and art forms, Drip Music presents an outdoor music festival for audiences of all ages to enjoy.

The festival brings back some of the most popular performances and workshops from the project, including crossover between jazz and street dance, integration of music improvisation and mindfulness elements, workshops designed for young children and families, and many more. These activities offer unique entry points for the public to enjoy jazz music, and at the same time get to know the emerging musicians and artists in Hong Kong. Moreover, we will invite overseas musicians to perform with Ensemble Transience.

Apart from the wide range of music programmes, the festival also promotes the idea of “green stage”. We will work with the local environmental organization Jup Yeah to raise people’s awareness towards a more sustainable lifestyle, and encourage audience members to reduce waste and recycle.

Festival Line-up

Main Stage:
Endor (a band formed by musicians of diverse backgrounds)
Fountain Vocal Tribe feat. Little Life Warrior Choir (Cantonese-singing choir collaborating with child cancer patients and survivors)
E.T. & Elliott x Jose & Kayi (crossover between local young jazz players and dancers)
Ensemble Transience feat. Caleb Dolister & John Ellis (an ensemble formed by jazz and classical musicians performing with overseas musicians)

Grassland:
Coffee Zen (music improvisation x mindfulness coffee experience)
ONE Harmony Drumming Factory (African music & dance)
Jazz x Poetry ( young jazz musicians paying tribute to local poetry)
Museek (ethnic instrument jamming session)

Indoor Workshop:
Book Giving Day | Read-Cycling(storytelling session & books give-away)
DJ Cypher Session (interactive street dance experience)
Music at Your Hand | BOMBAK Percussion Ensemble (eco-friendly percussions)
Mobile Mindful Wardrobe | Jup Yeah (used clothes exchange & mindfulness practice)
