Meet Frank Wong, President of Scholastic Asia - a leader in youth education!

About

Mr Frank Wong is the President of Scholastic Asia from 2003. 

Founded in 1920, Scholastic is the world’s largest children book publisher and distributor and a leader in comprehensive reading solutions to help children read and learn. Our best known titles include Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Dog Man, Geronimo Stilton, Captain Underpants and Clifford the Big Red Dog. Scholastic Asia operates in India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea.

Before joining Scholastic, Mr. Wong was President of PepsiCo snack business in China where he built dominant market position for Lay’s potato chips brand and led its first acquisition in China. Prior to PepsiCo, he was President of Nabisco China where he launched Oreo, Chips Ahoy and Ritz in China.  Before his Asia assignments, he held a series of senior brand management positions with Colgate Palmolive in New York.

He serves on the boards of Path of Democracy, a political think tank in Hong Kong, and Christian Action, a leading local charity serving refugees and the poor in both Hong Kong and Qinghai province in China. Previously, he was a Governor of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong; the founding chairman of Teach for Hong Kong; and the Vice Chairman of AFS Inter-cultural Exchanges.

Mr. Wong received a BA from George Washington University, a MA from Columbia University; and did graduate study at Harvard Kennedy School.

Cost per person is HK$150 (Full-time students aged 25 or below)/ HK$250 (General Participants) to support the running costs of our charity and our mission to make volunteerism mainstream.

If you're joining as a donor, please note that donations are not refundable. If the event is rescheduled or hosted online and you can't make it, you reserve the right to choose another experience to attend within 6 months.
