Born in 1948, KK was educated in HK and the UK. He received his B Soc Sc from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1974), and pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Manchester where he was awarded MA(1975) and Ph.D.(1978) degrees.

He returned to HK and had a distinguished business career, having served as a senior executive at the Lam Soon Group and Shui On Group respectively.

In 1992, he founded his own management consultancy, K KK Tse & Associates, specializing in leadership development, Total Quality Management, and Business Process Reengineering.

He 'retired' early at the age of 52, and had since 'rewired' himself as a social entrepreneur and social innovator.

He is the Founding Chair of the Hong Kong Social Entrepreneurship Forum, whose mission is 'To create a civic movement of social entrepreneurship'. 

He is a co-founder of the following social ventures:

• Adventurer of the Year, awarded by National Geographic (Chinese Edition) 2016

He was the Founding Editor of Social Entrepreneurs Newsletter (over 200 issues), and has written/edited over 20 books related to social entrepreneurship.
