Dominic is leading Google's efforts in helping Hong Kong get the most out of the internet
About
Dominic Allon is Google Hong Kong’s Managing Director, who is leading Google's efforts to nurture Hong Kong's entrepreneurs and talents. With the Empowering Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) Program launched by CUHK Center for Entrepreneurship and Google, which has received over 900 successful applicants last year, Dominic and his team are eager to help Hong Kong to live up the potential, with better connections and collaborations with the government, schools, business community and other key players in promoting entrepreneurship.
Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Dominic spent seven years working for Google UK where he transformed media agency partnerships and worked closely with the government and trade bodies to maintain digital advertising self-regulation. He also pioneered the Squared programme, a groundbreaking industry training initiative that is now scaling globally.
Prior to Google, Dominic worked at The Economist for seven years on international sales and business development. In 1999, he took an MBA from Imperial College, London having spent the previous three years at successful publishing start-up Student Pages, sold to DMGT.
Dominic has served on the Advertising Standards Authority’s General Media Panel, the Internet Advertising Bureau’s Policy Steering Group and the Communications Industry Parliamentary Debating Group. He recently joined the Government of Hong Kong’s new Steering Committee to accelerate tech education in secondary schools.
