Jennifer heads Eversheds’ employment practice in Asia and the Hong Kong data privacy practice. She serves as trusted counsel to multinational clients on various Hong Kong and Asia-related employment law matters. Examples include: advising on both the cultural and legal challenges of implementing global HR strategies; negotiating executive employment agreements; drafting and negotiating exit agreements and packages; and advising on post-merger integration across Asia (including transfer of staff, transfer of personal data, redundancies, and variation of employees’ terms and conditions of employment). She considers her main job to be anticipating problems and reducing legal risks, both in Hong Kong and across the Asia Pacific region. She has also advised on the employment and privacy issues in bribery and fraud investigations (including accompanying key employees to interviews with the relevant Hong Kong and US authorities). Jennifer regularly conducts training sessions for corporate clients on data privacy, termination, remuneration, and equal opportunities issues.

Jennifer is a member of the Hong Kong Law Society, where she sits on the Employment Law Committee. She is also a Governor at the American Chamber of Commerce, where she is on the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors. Jennifer frequently consults with governmental advisory bodies and NGOs on diversity issues and labour law. Jennifer is widely recognized as one of Hong Kong and the region’s leading employment lawyers. She is consistently ranked in the top tier of employment lawyers by Legal 500 Asia Pacific and Chambers Asia Pacific in their annual legal guides and has won a number of awards. Jennifer graduated from Rutgers University in the United States with a B.A. in Chinese and from the University of Hong Kong with an LL.B (first class) and P.C.LL. She is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong. As a resident of Hong Kong for over 26 years and a graduate of the University of Hong Kong, she combines an international background with local cultural and legal knowledge.
