As a Senior Partner and Head of Corporate Strategy for Optiver APAC, Daniel Weinberg is the primary liaison between the firm and all financial industry contacts, representing the firm to exchanges, Investment banks, vendors, and industry groups. Daniel is also a member of the Derivatives Advisory Committee for the Hong Kong Exchange (HKEX), Singapore Exchange (SGX) and the Korean Exchange (KRX). In 1998, Daniel began as a trader for Optiver. He became a senior partner by 2002 and eventually ran their Hong Kong business for 2 years from 2007-08. He currently sits on the local Optiver APAC Board and is one of four founding members of the Optiver Global Foundation Trust overseeing the Supervisory Board. Daniel has a Masters of Commerce from UNSW (1996). He has also completed an Executive Management course on negotiations at Harvard Business School.
Optiver is a global trading company, with offices in Amsterdam, Sydney, Shanghai and Chicago. Optiver APAC is an electronic market-maker and participant on major options, futures and stock exchanges, including the Japan Exchange, Hong Kong Exchange and Singapore Exchange. Optiver’s primary trading activities are screen based, utilizing resources and technology that are developed entirely in-house.
