Cherry Fung joined Fortinet in Dec 2009 as Country Manager of Hong Kong and Macau, and her role later extended to cover Mongolia as well. She is responsible for driving business and overseeing the teams in all three markets. Fortinet is Hong Kong’s No. 1 security equipment provider in 2016. Hong Kong’s strategic position as a regional financial services hub, combined with the growth in digital banking and fintech services in the region, make the impact of successful cyberattacks very high. It is critical to develop a strong network of cybersecurity professionals to safeguard vital networks and sensitive data. Current estimates show up to 1 million cybersecurity job openings globally with demand expected to rise to 6 million by 2019. Fortinet is keen to partner with organizations around the world in an innovative way to fill the pipeline of cybersecurity experts needed to manage and thwart increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks.
As a woman in technology, Cherry started out very early in the industry. Prior to joining Fortinet, she has been working in IT industry for more than 15 years on various positions in 3Com Corporation and H3C Technology Limited. She was Senior Channel Manager in H3C and had successful track record of developing and implementing channel strategies and programs that resulted in growing both company and partners business.
