About Gabriela
Gabriela Kennedy is a partner of Mayer Brown and co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Intellectual Property practice. She is also head of the Asia IP and TMT group and a member of the firm’s global Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice. Based in Hong Kong, Gabriela advises leading global brands and businesses on IP, media, information technology (IT) and telecommunications law as well as on data privacy and cyber-security issues. She handles the full spectrum of IP work – from litigation and licensing to strategic advice and portfolio management. She also advises extensively on technology and data protection and cyber-security issues in Hong Kong and throughout Asia, notably business processing outsourcing, cross-border transfer of data, data compliance, data breaches and cybersecurity issues. As a towering figure in the IP & TMT market, Gabriela was recently recognized the "Private Practitioner of the Year, North Asia" by ALB Women in Law Awards (2021).

Gabriela has been a strong advocate of pro-bono work and has provided unstinting support to a number of NGOs over the years.

A former theoretical linguist Gabriela speaks a number of European languages including English, French, Spanish, Italian, Romanian and Portuguese.
