背景資料
The term "social enterprise"(SE) has been the subject of discussion in Hong Kong for many years, dating back to the 1990s. However, there is some disagreement regarding its precise definition, while the general public is still feeling confused about what exactly is social enterprise. Even though the concept of social enterprise has been introduced on both sides of the Atlantic for approximately thirty years, and the related practices are becoming increasingly popular in the Asian region, including Hong Kong, a single, unanimous definition of the term has not yet been achieved. The Hong Kong government has yet to establish an official definition for social enterprise, even though it has already provided consistent subsidies to various social enterprises. The survey will include questions about the definition of social enterprise, personal experiences and understanding of social enterprise, the functions of social enterprise and the requirements for starting a social enterprise.

對我們的意義
The purpose of this study is to ascertain the primary opinions of the general public regarding social enterprise, as there are varying definitions of social enterprises in society. This is done to prevent confusion among the general public, as previously mentioned. The study aims to describe public opinion on some of the prevalent disputes in specific circumstances; it also contributes to the declaration of popular perceptions of the social missions of various SEs in Hong Kong.And it helps us to make a better effort to have a more complete SEE MARK certification system. In order to provide a better and precise information of social enterprise in Hong Kong to the public.
