• We are looking for English and Hindi, Punjabi or Sinhala-speaking volunteers who can either translate written materials or interpret real-time.
• For Translators:
• Translate our project materials, such as training materials and survey forms, from English to Hindi, Punjabi or Sinhalese. We will contact translation volunteers when tasks are available, specifying the length of materials and the proposed timeframe. Maintain communication with our project management team to ensure translations are both consistent and fruitful. We are looking for volunteers who can read and write Hindi, Punjabi or Sinhala with native/ near-native fluency - previous translation experience would be a big plus!
• For interpreters:
• Interpret between English and Hindi, Punjabi or Sinhala during in-person appointments or telephone conferences with our domestic worker beneficiaries. We will contact interpreters when interpretation is needed, and coordinate with individual interpreters based on their availability. Maintain communication with our casework team to ensure clear communication with our beneficiaries.

Your language skills will help us better communicate with Indian and Sri Lankan migrant domestic worker beneficiaries and partners in their native language. This further supports the broader goal of our training to ensure migrant workers know their rights and are able to make informed decisions, which is part of HELP’s effort to ensure that migrant workers are empowered to access justice and fair and equal treatment.
