• Make recommendations on how to more effectively communicate key information and make the training more engaging

背景資料

We are a free English language program that recruits thousands of young volunteers to practice speaking English with their peers. We train all volunteers on Zoom. We've been really struggling with getting all the key information in while keeping volunteers' attention and would love some expert advice. This project is a short consulting engagement to help improve our volunteer training.

You will be able to sit in on a real ENGin training and see the trainers' PowerPoint slides and notes. We will also share feedback from training participants, which we collect after each training.

Volunteers are the core of our program - they meet directly with our students without supervision. Training them is our one opportunity to impart all the key information they need to know to lead high-quality sessions.Most of our volunteers are teenagers with minimal experience, so there is a LOT we need to teach them. At the same time, overwhelming them with information leads to lower engagement and retention. Figuring out this challenge will improve the volunteer experience and increase program quality for thousands of students.
