Provide live translation for the post-screening discussion of the film "Living in Two Worlds"
The Japanese film "Living in Two Worlds" tells the story of a deaf family, focusing particularly on the relationship between a mother who cannot hear and her hearing son. It delicately depicts the challenges and struggles that a CODA (Child of a Deaf Adult) experiences while growing up. This screening is aimed at CODA families and will have approximately 50 participants. After the film, CODAs will be invited to share their feelings and discuss the movie.
We will provide the host script and a list of questions in advance to assist the volunteer in their role.
This initiative aims to enhance the self-image and identity of our members, increasing public awareness of CODA identity. We also hope that through the film, CODAs and their parents can develop mutual understanding, thereby improving communication and strengthening their relationships.

CODA Hong Kong (Children of Deaf Adults) is the first of its kind in Asia. Established in 2013, its objectives are to help CODAs of Hong Kong understand and acknowledge their special identity as bilingual and bicultural, learn and develop potential skills, build a self-help community, and adopt positive outlooks of life. CODAs are the second generation of deaf people. We are therefore concerned about government policies of deaf welfare and sign language. Through education, advocacy, publication and academic research, we promote knowledge of sign language and deaf culture to the public and various stakeholders. We believe in building a society in which the deaf and the hearing integrate harmoniously.
