Care Bear incorporates technology with the human touch in a hybrid format to build peer-support among youth with depression. Given the prevalence of mental health problems among youth, students report feeling isolated when emotional buffers become less accessible under COVID-19. Through targeting negative cognitions, the venture early detects and alleviates the symptoms of depression among at-risk youth. Care Bear, consisting of a game-based app and a customized care package service, utilizes the S.M.A.R.T. goals framework, and includes online anonymous pairing and physical features to foster resilience and mutual empowerment.
