[Co'asis] Collaboration for Nature Experience Services

Network

Description

The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society (HKBWS) was founded in 1957 and is a public charitable organization in Hong Kong. HKBWS also became a BirdLife International Partner in 2013, a member of The East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership in 2020 and a member of International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) in 2022. HKBWS promotes appreciation and protection of birds and their habitats through research, habitat management, education and conservation advocacy to achieve the vision of “People and birds living in harmony as nature continues to thrive.”

Nature, Art and Wellbeing Workshop

We are thinking to diversify our education activities and exploring how to bring different people to birds and nature through art or/and mental health workshops. We would like to learn from NGO peers on:

  • Principles in developing art and mental health workshops
  • Experience and insight on providing services to people with special needs

What is bird watching?

Bird watching is a rewarding activity that connects you with nature through your senses. As you observe birds in their habitats, you engage not just your sight but also your hearing, listening to their songs and calls. We hope through this activity, participants can increase their awareness of the environment and foster a deeper appreciation for wildlife and ecosystems, whether in a busy park, an open farmland or a quiet forest.

We are looking for potential collaborations with NGOs from different fields to expand our bird watching and nature experience to a wider range of audience and diversify the means of admiring nature. Let’s have a chat if you are interested!
