Ms. Anna Yip is the Former CEO of SmarTone. Under her leadership, SmarTone is blazing the trail for new mobile technology in Hong Kong and enabling new possibilities of 5G and Internet of Things (IoT). SmarTone already offers a range of ICT solutions to enterprises in multiple sectors, including construction, hospitality, transportation, property management and healthcare. With the convergence of the Company’s powerful network and ICT expertise, SmarTone aims to play a strong role in expediting smart city development in Hong Kong. The Company is known for its market segmentation approach, bringing thoughtful services and exceptional experience to target segments, including the youth, professionals, families and the silver-haired. Ms. Yip also drove digitalisation as one of the key business initiatives for the Company to enhance operational effectiveness and customer experiences. Prior to joining SmarTone, Ms. Yip was Head of Hong Kong and Macau, MasterCard Asia/Pacific, and the Managing Director for Corporate Planning and International Strategy at United Overseas Bank in Singapore. Previously Ms. Yip was a Partner with McKinsey & Company in Greater China where she was a co-leader of the Asia Financial Institutional Group and led the Payments practice.
Ms. Yip stepped down from her role in August 2020, and is now a special consultant to the board of SmarTone. Ms. Yip is also active in public service and education development. Ms. Yip was appointed by the HKSAR government as a Member of the Civil Court Users’ Committee of the Judiciary, as well as a lay member at the Joint Committee on Student Finance. She is an ex-council member and current Court member of the Open University of Hong Kong as well as the Vice Chairman, Women Executives Club of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Advisory Board of MBA Programs of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Ms. Yip holds a Bachelor degree (First Honours) in Business Administration from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and both MPhil and DPhil degrees in Management Studies from the University of Oxford.
Cost per person is HK$50 (Full-time students aged 25 or below)/ HK$100 (General Participants) to support the running costs of our charity and our mission to make volunteerism mainstream.
