Based in Hong Kong, Matt Pecot is Head of Markets for Asia Pacific, a member of the Asia Pacific Executive Forum and Global Markets Executive Committee. Matt joined Barclays in May 2018 as Head of Equities for Asia Pacific before being promoted to the role of Head of Markets for Asia Pacific in July 2019. Matt has over 25 years of industry experience, most recently serving as Head of Prime Services and Head of Equities Distribution at Credit Suisse in Asia Pacific. In this role he managed all client-facing teams across Cash, Derivatives, and Prime, and was instrumental in the team achieving a top two position in Prime Services.

Prior to Credit Suisse, Matt was Head of Prime Services and Prime Brokerage Services in Asia Pacific at UBS between 2004 and 2007, before his appointment as Head of Prime Brokerage Services for the Americas at the firm. In that role, he successfully transformed the US Prime Brokerage franchise. Before joining the financial services industry in 1993, Matt has held a number of leadership roles in the United States Army soon after graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Air Force Institute of Technology.
