Su-Mei Thompson is CEO of The Women’s Foundation, a NGO dedicated to the advancement of women and girls in Hong Kong through research, community programmes, education and advocacy. In 2013, Su-Mei founded the 30% Club HK, a group of chairmen and CEO leaders who are committed to bringing more women onto corporate boards. Su-Mei was also an Associate Producer for "She Objects" a new documentary by The Women's Foundation which was included in the Official Selection for the 2016 Sundance Film Festival: Hong Kong. Su-Mei started her career at Linklaters as a corporate finance associate while also serving as a lecturer and tutor in law at Kings College, London. She went on to hold senior management positions at The Walt Disney Company, the Financial Times and Christie’s in Asia. In addition to running The Women's Foundation, Su-Mei is a member of the Equal Opportunities Commission of Hong Kong, she serves on the board of Opera HK and she is a council member of The Cheltenham Ladies College.
Su-Mei is the winner of the 2015 AmCham Women of Influence Award for Non-Profit Leader of the Year and the 2015 HKAH/Tatler Women of Hope Award for Power & Influence. She was recognised as one of HK’s 100 Most Influential People by Debrett's/the SCMP in 2015. Su-Mei served as a judge for the 2014 Diageo WE Journalism Awards and as a jury member for the 2016 Cannes Glass Lions Awards. Su-Mei holds law degrees from Cambridge and Oxford and an MBA from IMD.
All volunteer hours must be completed during 1 September 2016 to 28 Feburary 2017. Lunch will be held on 14 Mar 2017.
