How Time Auction works

1. Earn Karma

Donating and logging past volunteer hours earns you Karma Points, which you can then use to bid on auctions. $1 donated earns 1 Karma Point and 1 hour volunteered earns 10 Karma Points.

2. Bid

Bid your Karma Points to meet inspiring people, such as humanitarians, entrepreneurs, athletes, or artists. Most auctions allow every bidder to win if the goal is reached.

3. Meet

Time Auction is all about priceless experiences and rewards for the priceless philanthropy you do. Depending on the auction, meetings are done virtually or in person... or both!

Meet Chu Tsz-wing (朱子穎), Chief Headmaster of St. Hilary's Primary School and VNSAA St. Hilary’s School

This auction has ended. It collected 66 volunteer hours.
Dinner with Headmaster Chu (24 Oct)

It will be held at WeWork Lee Garden One at 7:15-9:30pm on 24 October 2019.

Meet Chu Tsz-wing (朱子穎) who saved a primary school from the verge of closure by reforming the exam-oriented curriculum through innovation & technology.

A dynamic and unconventional educator, Mr Chu Tsz-wing has dedicated his career to equipping the next generation and integrating innovation in education. Mr Chu graduated from the then Hong Kong Institute of Education in 2003. Soon after that, Mr Chu rolled out the “Electronic Schoolbag as a Medium for Teaching, Learning and Assignment” programme, a very well-received project at the school in which he taught. In 2009, he obtained a Master’s degree in Information Technology in Education from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and joined the then HKIEd Jockey Club Primary School in 2011.

In 2013, at the age of 33, Mr Chu moved to Baptist Rainbow Primary School, where he served as Headmaster. During his principalship, Mr Chu reformed the examination-oriented curriculum and introduced innovation and technology in the school. His unorthodox approach not only won approval, but also led to an increase in student admissions. In just five years, he successfully saved the school from the verge of closure, expanding the number of classes from six to 22.

Mr Chu co-founded DreamStarter in 2016, an innovative education initiative that enables pupils to spend their afternoons working on one-year projects to make their dream projects come to life, with the aim of fostering children’s creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

In 2018, Mr Chu became Chief Headmaster of St. Hilary's Primary School and VNSAA St. Hilary’s School, where he has continued to promote e-learning and other initiatives. Over the years, he has hosted more than 300 talks on innovative education and was named Microsoft Most Valued Teacher four times (in 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013). In the e-Learning Best Practice 2010 Competition, organised by Microsoft, he won the Innovative Teachers of Hong Kong award and The Best of the Teachers award. In 2018, Mr Chu was named one of Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Hong Kong.
