How Time Auction works

1. Earn Karma

Donating and logging past volunteer hours earns you Karma Points, which you can then use to bid on auctions. $1 donated earns 1 Karma Point and 1 hour volunteered earns 10 Karma Points.

2. Bid

Bid your Karma Points to meet inspiring people, such as humanitarians, entrepreneurs, athletes, or artists. Most auctions allow every bidder to win if the goal is reached.

3. Meet

Time Auction is all about priceless experiences and rewards for the priceless philanthropy you do. Depending on the auction, meetings are done virtually or in person... or both!

From 2002 to 2003, he served as President and Director of Asia Silicon Valley Connection (ASVC), a non-profit organization that promotes entrepreneurial initiatives in Asia and Silicon Valley.

Outside of work, Thomas likes trying a lot of new activities including swimming and yoga recently. His secret in coping with a stressful working day is to engage in physical activity everyday.

Thomas Chou is a partner in Morrison & Foerster LLP’s worldwide partnership and resident in the firm’s Hong Kong office. Mr. Chou has an active corporate practice, focusing on cross-border mergers and acquisitions (inbound and outbound), joint ventures, private equity, venture capital and debt financings and corporate restructurings. Mr. Chou chairs the firm’s leading Asia-Pacific private equity practice, which is consistently highly ranked in Chambers Asia-Pacific. Mr. Chou is also a leader in the firm's China M&A group, which is ranked by Chambers Asia-Pacific (2013) in the “Elite – International Firms” category.

Mr. Chou’s clients include global private equity and venture capital investors, emerging growth companies, multinational corporations and Chinese state-owned enterprises in the healthcare, TMT, clean tech, consumer, and financial services industries.

Mr Chou is consistently recognized as a leading lawyer in the areas of M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital by major independent lawyer ranking organizations, including Chambers Global, Chambers Asia-Pacific, IFLR 1000 and Asia Pacific Legal 500. Mr. Chou is ranked by Chamber Asia-Pacific 2013 (China Edition) for M&A and Private Equity. Chambers Global (2011) notes that he is a “prominent figure in technology related M&A”. Chambers Asia-Pacific(2013) adds he is “highly prized by clients as he ‘totally understands our position – if we are going astray he will help to bring us back in line. With his cool and calm demeanour he is not afraid to tell us both the good and bad news, and he will be forthright about it.’” In addition, Asian Legal Business (ALB) magazine named Mr. Chou as a finalist for the 2011 "Hong Kong Dealmaker of the Year" Award.

Mr. Chou frequently speaks on current topics in M&A, private equity and venture capital for organizations such as the American Bar Association, Asia America MultiTechnology Association, Asian Venture Capital Journal, China Venture Capital Association, Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, and Mergermarket.
