How Time Auction works

1. Earn Karma

Donating and logging past volunteer hours earns you Karma Points, which you can then use to bid on auctions. $1 donated earns 1 Karma Point and 1 hour volunteered earns 10 Karma Points.

2. Bid

Bid your Karma Points to meet inspiring people, such as humanitarians, entrepreneurs, athletes, or artists. Most auctions allow every bidder to win if the goal is reached.

3. Meet

Time Auction is all about priceless experiences and rewards for the priceless philanthropy you do. Depending on the auction, meetings are done virtually or in person... or both!

Time Auction was started as a side project in 2014 which has grown into a registered charity, raising over 8,000 volunteer hours in 2.5 years. Hear from the Founders and Director on how to build, pitch and sell - all essential skills to build your own startup or excel in the corporate world.

Meet the team:

AARON LEE, Strategic Advisor and Director of Time Auction, Founder of Dash Serviced Suites, Forbes 30 Under 30

Aaron is the Founder of Dash Serviced Suites - Hong Kong’s fastest growing asset-light, tech-enabled, serviced apartment community operating over 100 apartments as of December 2016. Positioned as “The WeWork of Residential,” the company has the mission to use shared economies to target the US$400Billion corporate accommodation market for urban millennials worldwide.

Aaron, age 29, is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor and philanthropist. He has over 12 years of experience in using technology to build industry disrupting startups with his first venture at age 17. Aaron is an initial investor and Director of uBuyiBuy.com, a Hong Kong group buying company acquired by Groupon in 2010 (NASDAQ: GRPN). Under his leadership from 2010 – 2013 Groupon HK has grown to over 150 staff with over HK$1Billion in bookings. Other notable Asian startups under Aaron’s leadership includes SHOPAME.com (now known as Mydress.com), Snapask (Asia’s #1 tutors on demand mobile app with presence in Hong Kong, Taiwan & Singapore), and Time Auction. In 2016, Aaron was recognized as a Forbes Asia “30 Under 30 Entrepreneur” for his achievements.

FION LEUNG, Co-founder and CEO of Time Auction

Fion is the Co-founder and CEO of Time Auction, a platform featuring inspiring mentors while encouraging volunteerism. To marry her passions for social impact and life learning, Fion started Time Auction as a side project during her banking career, which quickly gained traction among generous donors and young adults.

Prior to Time Auction, Fion has worked as a Product Evangelist at Notey, a media and technology startup that was featured as “15 of the Fastest Growing Startups Flying Under the Radar” by Business Insider. Prior to Notey, Fion spent 4 years at Barclays in Compliance while maintaining an active interest in technology, education and environmental issues. She was on the Women’s Initiative Network committee, the largest external network group in the firm with a mission to retain and attract talented women in the firm. Fion is a graduate from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with a degree in Business Administration.

SUETYI WONG, Co-founder of Time Auction by night, Program Manager at PLAYSTUDIOS ASIA by day

Suet co-founded Time Auction as a side project during her career in finance, a platform that connects enthusiastic learners to founders and executives while encouraging volunteerism.

Suet Yi currently works as Reward Partnership Program Manager in PLAYSTUDIOS Asia, a high-growth mobile social game startup that offers real-world rewards. Its mobile and social games have achieved over 25 million downloads with over 1.3 million daily users. Prior to PLAYSTUDIOS, Suet Yi spent 5 years at Bloomberg in Financial Product Analytics and later at Sales in the Hedge Fund Team to provide customized solution to finance professionals. While at Bloomberg, she also spearheaded and organized its inaugural Hedge Fund Forum in Hong Kong.

Suet Yi is an avid traveler, health and fitness enthusiast who has lived and worked in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and the United States. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
