How Time Auction works

1. Earn Karma

Donating and logging past volunteer hours earns you Karma Points, which you can then use to bid on auctions. $1 donated earns 1 Karma Point and 1 hour volunteered earns 10 Karma Points.

2. Bid

Bid your Karma Points to meet inspiring people, such as humanitarians, entrepreneurs, athletes, or artists. Most auctions allow every bidder to win if the goal is reached.

3. Meet

Time Auction is all about priceless experiences and rewards for the priceless philanthropy you do. Depending on the auction, meetings are done virtually or in person... or both!

Meet Gigi. Executive Vice-Chairman of Cheuk Nang. The first female President of Hong Kong Aviation Club. A voice for the LGBTQ community.

Description

Gigi Chao is the executive vice-chairman of Cheuk Nang (Holdings) [HKSE 0131]. She is also an avid aviator, a passionate member of the community, and a voice for the LGBTQ community in Hong Kong.

Gigi graduated from the University of Manchester, Manchester School of Architecture, England, in Architecture with Honours. Subsequently, she worked with prominent British Architect and Urban Designer Sir Terry Farrell in London and Hong Kong where she participated in projects such as Kowloon Station, Tsuen Wan West Station, and design competitions for iconic buildings in mainland China. Besides a background in architecture and construction, her multi-faceted experience in management and service was acquired from over a decade in marketing and retail services in Hong Kong and China, during which she handled key accounts such as Rolex, Audemars Piquet, Hong Kong Jockey Club, Mont Blanc, L'Oreal, and Ball Watch.

In 2008, she founded Faith in Love Foundation with a vision for service in humility and yearning for simple giving. She has always been a passionate volunteer for various charitable organisations from a young age, and had travelled extensively doing volunteer work in her formative years to Malawi with World Vision, Alaska with Habitat for Humanity, and Hunan with Sowers Action. The mission of Faith in Love is to tackle the wealth disparity in Hong Kong by connecting needs with resources and encouraging volunteerism. The Foundation currently sponsors over 60 young people annually in academic tutoring, scholarships, and career placements.

As the first female President of Hong Kong Aviation Club, Gigi has taken on leadership with reform of traditional committee duties including ensuring positive working relationship with the PLA in the Shek Kong army base, review of internal training opportunities and hiring of suitable candidates for Flight Operations and Engineering Departments, and improving the standard of Ground Safety facilities. She is also one of the key personnel for liaison with government departments and the general aviation community. As a helicopter pilot of the Hong Kong Air Cadets Corp, her rank is that of Specialist Flight Lieutenant, for which she flies regularly and plays a diplomatic role for important overseas visitors.

As a writer, Gigi has published two books and contributed to many others. She was previously a regular op ed columnist for Sing Tao Daily and Apple Daily, and now her columns can be found in Ming’s in Ming Pao.
