Join our volunteer actors team to perform in Life Drama at schools to promote life cherishment

Project Details

What we need

  • You will be joining our team of volunteer actors who would perform in different schools to promote life cherishment
  • Participate in 18 hours of rehearsal prior to performing
  • To perform a Life Drama play in schools - Schedule will depend on the schools' invitation
  • All ages and experiences are welcome

Background

Since 2012, our Life Drama has held 60 performances, reaching more than 13,000 spectators. Life Drama is conducted in the form of forum theater. Through hot-seating, substitution of roles, rewriting of the ending, etc., to promote life cherishment, and encourage audience to seek feasible solutions with a positive attitude to solve the difficulties in life. We hold to develop a pool of volunteers, who are willing to participate from time to time, based on their availability.

What we have

We provide theatrical training and thus volunteers without experience are welcome to join.

Why this is important

Life Drama is an essential project of life education as the young generation can be reached and connected through interactive performances.

What we do

Every life is precious, unique and should be cherished. Mission: To promote the message of suicide prevention and life cherishment to the general public through outreaching service, Life Ambassadors Programme, Suicide Prevention Resource Library, and publication of teaching kits so that people can be a Community Goalkeeper to spot the emotional distress of and provide support to the people around them, which ultimately can prevent suicides. Characteristics 1. Enhance the community their knowledge on suicide prevention through education 2. Schools are the point of intervention 3. Through talks and training for peers on life cherishment and suicide prevention to deal with the problem of suicide
