Project Details

What we need
  • Able to prepare a research report showing comparison of attitudes towards public events looking at countries with varying vaccination rates
  • Review and analyze international and local peer organisation's best practices including any innovative events formats being used in response to COVID-19
  • Provide recommendations on when to consider halting in person events if COVID-19 resurges
  • Propose risk mitigation strategies/suggestions for in person events
  • Conduct desk research on how international and local organizations are approaching in person events in the light of COVID-19, relating this to the Hong Kong context and making recommendations on if, when and how Resolve could restart in person events
Background

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in Hong Kong in February 2020, Resolve pivoted to host all events online. As the COVID-19 situation slowly starts to stabilize globally we would like to consider how and when we could restart hosting in person events without posing a risk to our community.

What we have

● Orientation with key members of the team ● Opportunity to learn about social justice and inclusion as it applies to the Hong Kong context ● A chance to get more in-depth, behind-the-scenes understanding of small nonprofit operations ● Be part of a dynamic, purpose-driven, professional and fun team

Why this is important

This research will help Resolve identify if, when and how they might be able to restart in person events by learning from peers and weighing off the risk/benefits of conducting in person events in the context of COVID-19.

What we do

Our Mission: We exist to inspire, empower and connect emerging leaders to bring about inclusive social change. Our Vision: We believe in a Hong Kong where everyone is heard and can take everyday action for their community. Our Values: Rights, Equality, Solidarity, Organization, Leadership, Voice and Empowerment. Our Community: Our people and partners come from diverse sectors and backgrounds. We are stronger together. Our Organization: In May 2017, Resolve was founded with one question in mind: in an age of increasing polarization and intolerance, how can we build more inclusive and accepting societies? We believe the answer rests with communities themselves, harnessing their own power to bring about positive social change.
