Project Details

What we need
  • Join 30 minute briefing call
  • Write book descriptions (less than 100 words each), for approx. 50 children's books (using specific websites for reference)
  • Check and edit existing content (name of author, illustrator, book title etc)
Background

We are developing a user-friendly microsite to be launched in December, to recommend the best English (and Chinese) children's books with search functionality, to help parents and educators choose the best books for their children. We have a list of a few hundred titles that we plan to launch in 2021 which we need descriptions for.

What we have

We have the list of book titles and a google spread sheet with editing and description guidelines. Our staff will provide a briefing and share many examples that the volunteer can use as reference.

Why this is important

As the leading advocate for family literacy and reading aloud in Hong Kong, Bring Me A Book is often asked by parents, “What are the best books to read to my children? Our Chinese and English bookguides help parents and teachers select the best books for their children – ones that will pique a child’s interest and nurture a life-long love of reading.
