What we need

• Create short, powerful video stories for migrant domestic workers on various topics such as conversations with family pre-migration, lessons around loans, and spotting and avoiding scams.
• Film approx 18 reels (6 in English, 6 in Bahasa Indonesian and 6 in Tagalog)
• Edit the footage into a clean, engaging reels (1–3 mins)
• Add simple on-screen text or subtitles (in English, Tagalog, or Bahasa – we will provide translations)
• Add music, transitions, or visuals if needed to keep it appealing for social media, eg text/ icons/ emojis, etc. (We are keen for your artistic input here)
• Export and share with us in a format ready for WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube

Background

We are creating short, powerful video stories for migrant domestic workers on various topics such as conversations with family pre-migration, lessons around loans, and spotting and avoiding scams.These videos use an engaging ‘unwise vs. wise’ (conscience-based decision-making using the same actress for all three roles) format to highlight real-life decision-making.We plan to have the same actress play all three characters. The videos will be in English, Bahasa Indonesian and Tagalog.

What we have

We will provide the scripts, the actresses (1 Filipino and 1 Indonesian- one of whom will also film the English version)

Why this is important

Uplifters is a non-profit organisation that empowers migrant domestic workers through free online education. We believe that every woman working far from home deserves support to build a brighter future, not just for her family but also for herself. Our free and fully online courses help domestic workers gain confidence, manage money wisely, avoid debt and scams, and communicate better with loved ones. We exist so that no migrant worker has to face her journey alone.
