Meet Twinkle - Finding Purpose Beyond Business
As a fourth-year Marketing and Human Resources student at CUHK, Twinkle Chan found herself questioning the traditional path of pursuing high-paying corporate roles. She yearned for something more meaningful than just profit margins, asking herself, "Can I work somewhere that truly contributes to society?" This question would become the catalyst for her transformative journey into volunteering.
About Project Future Association
Project Future Association is a youth-led organization dedicated to environmental protection and community development. Through various initiatives and fundraising activities, they empower young people to take action on environmental issues while developing leadership skills and creating positive social impact.
A Journey of Growth and Impact
With an uncommon blend of practicality and idealism, Twinkle approached volunteering as both a learning opportunity and a chance to make a difference. She candidly shares her motivations: from the practical aspects of CV building to the deeper desire to create social impact. She mentions firmly that she is only interested in initiatives that generate meaningful impact, combining entrepreneurial skills with social causes.
When Twinkle discovered the Project Future Association opportunity through Time Auction's email highlights, it seemed almost too perfect. The role combined environmental protection with fundraising - two areas she had never explored. Despite initial self-doubt about her capabilities as a student volunteer, she took the leap.
What started as a secretary position in the fundraising committee evolved into something much more significant. By her second term, Twinkle found herself elected as the committee's president, leading a diverse group of young volunteers ranging from secondary school students to university peers.
