Meet Tao - From Sales Professional to Community Champion
With a background in sales and the enriching experience of raising a 15-year-old son, Tao Jin discovered a new path in life. Her journey of impact began when she courageously relocated to Hong Kong in 2024 to further her studies, a move that would lead her to discover her passion for community service.

From Volunteer to Community Champion
What started as a simple volunteer opportunity through Time Auction blossomed into a profound journey of service and personal growth. Tao's dedication extended beyond her regular duties - she became a passionate advocate for the cause, inspiring her own child to participate during holidays and actively recruiting others to join the mission.
Moments of Connection
During her service, Tao encountered a memorable moment with an African refugee who arrived wearing summer clothing - short sleeves, shorts and slippers - on a bitterly cold Hong Kong day. While Tao herself was feeling cold in her thick coat, the manager quickly provided him with a warm jacket from the warehouse. As she helped him collect clothes, shoes, blankets and other essential items according to service procedures, she was struck by his unwavering positive attitude. Despite what many would consider challenging circumstances, his happy smile never faded. Watching him leave with supplies, full of joy, deeply touched her heart and transformed her understanding of true wealth and resilience - teaching her that richness isn't always measured in material possessions, but in one's outlook on life.
Overcoming Resource Constraints
In her role, Tao frequently faced the challenge of limited essential items like refrigerators and washing machines for refugee families. Rather than becoming discouraged, she channeled this constraint into motivation, actively working to raise community awareness and encourage greater involvement in supporting refugee needs.
Message on a Billboard
Asked what message she would put on a billboard on Hong Kong's busiest street to inspire others to volunteer, Tao shared this heartfelt invitation: "Please join us in giving the world a gift and surprising yourself." She believes deeply that volunteering creates a unique opportunity—not just to contribute to society, but to discover unexpected parts of yourself.
