Time Auction’s New Logo: + Be Human and > Go Forward
In 2014, we started Time Auction, an idea where you can meet and learn from a master of your craft just by volunteering 10 hours to any charity.
What started as a side project to answer the question “how do you find work you love?” has now transformed into something bigger than ourselves — a registered charity, a team of 8 kind souls (2 full-time ), a 10,000+ strong community with over 17,000 volunteer hours raised to date.
We felt the need to rebrand to grasp our vision — a casual and modern way to learn from human connection. So we did some soul-searching last year and asked ourselves, “What is our mission? What is at the core that truly defines Time Auction?”
Turns out the answer was right in front of us.
What we stand for
At our events, we’ve met over a thousand individuals in our community — a high-school student who aspires to be an entrepreneur, a former banker who is taking a year off to find her passion, a full-time professional with a side-gig to break into screenwriting... and the many more who are crafting their own path while also committing to causes that make the world a better place.
This is the common thread of our community: To better ourselves while bettering our world.
Our new icon
“+” conveys Adding Positively to Society, Improving Ourselves, and Being Human.
“>” conveys Moving Forward, Something Bigger than Ourselves, and Challenging the Usual Path.
So to represent that mission, we’ve created a symbol for us as a community. It’s an iconic mark for our meet-ups, our greetings, and our shared values. It’s a symbol that, can be drawn by anyone, because everyone can + be human and > go forward.
In the end, nothing can represent us more profoundly than the stories of the people who make up this community. When we started Time Auction, we had no idea about the people we would meet, the stories we would hear and the friendships we would make. We all come from vastly different life experiences and aspirations. And yet, we are all united by the powerful desire to learn and to give. So together, with this new identity, we look forward to the next chapter of this journey with the belief that first set it in motion — giving and growing makes a meaningful life.
