Named by Andreessen Horowitz CEO as "the greatest CEO of his time", Alfred co-founded BEA Systems which was recognized for revolutionizing the enterprise computing market and lead to its acquisition by Oracle for $8.5 billion.

About

Recognized by Andreessen Horowitz as the Silicon Valley CEO’s CEO, Alfred Chuang an accomplished entrepreneur, venture investor, and advisor. Alfred began venture investing in 2008 and over the past decade, his portfolio grew from a handful of small startups to over 100 companies including some of the most iconic Silicon Valley technology companies. Known for being the co-founder of BEA Systems, Alfred became CEO in 2001 and lead BEA Systems to its acquisition by Oracle for $8.5 billion. Prior to founding BEA, Chuang held many senior executive positions at Sun Microsystems and he was the founder of the Computer Resources Center for Sun Intercontinental Operations, which he helped establish key subsidiaries in Asia. Alfred also loves education and dedicates his time and energy as advisor and board member at the University of San Francisco School of Engineering 2020, UC Davis Chancellor Advisory Board, UC Davis School of Engineering Dean’s Committee, School of Business Dean’s Committee at City University of Hong Kong, and School of Engineering Industrial Advisory Committee at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).

Alfred received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of San Francisco and a Master in Computer Science with an emphasis on distributed data management from the University of California, Davis. He is also a proud graduate of Wah Yan College, Hong Kong.

Requirements

Cost per person is HK$150 (Full-time students aged 25 or below)/ HK$250 (General Participants) to support the running costs of our charity and our mission to make volunteerism mainstream.

The experience may be rescheduled or hosted online with consideration of the social distancing restrictions due to COVID-19. A new date and time will be communicated with the participants. Please also note that food & beverage will only be served if the restrictions allow. The arrangement will be confirmed closer to the event date.

All participants are required to complete a health declaration form before attending the event.

If you're joining as a donor, please note that donations are not refundable. If the event is rescheduled or hosted online and you can't make it, you reserve the right to choose another experience to attend within 6 months.
