From IT programmer to CEO, the 22-year Manulife veteran has held leadership roles in Canada, Japan, the Philippines, China and now Hong Kong.

About

Guy Mills is Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Hong Kong, overseeing all Manulife’s businesses and distribution in Hong Kong and Macau, except mutual-funds business. He is also a Director of the Board of both Manulife (International) Limited and Manulife Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited. Mr. Mills also serves as a Councillor of the Life Insurance Council of The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers, and is a Director of the Board of the Pacific Insurance Conference. Having joined Manulife Financial in 1995, Mr. Mills has more than two decades of practical experience with the company. He has held progressive technology and operations management roles within Manulife’s Canadian, Asian and Corporate divisions, including a two-year assignment in Tokyo, Japan, during the first half of his career with the firm. In 2005, Mr. Mills relocated to the Philippines to head up Manulife’s Business Processing Services, the company’s global-resourcing capabilities facility, as its first Chief Executive Officer. He built a world-class global-resourcing practice of more than 2,000 employees located in Manila, Chengdu and Kuala Lumpur over his five-year tenure.

He was then appointed Chief Operating Officer of Manulife’s Asia Division, responsible for operations, customer service, brand development and communications across the region, before moving to Mainland China as CEO of Manulife-Sinochem, the company’s life insurance joint venture headquartered in Shanghai. Before emigrating to Canada and joining Manulife Financial, Mr. Mills held information-technology positions in the United Kingdom with Clerical Medical Investment Group and National Westminster Bank. He holds an MBA degree from both University of Washington in St. Louis, US, and Fudan University in Shanghai, China.

Dinner will be held at 6:45pm to 9pm on 10 April 2018.

The cost will be HK$250 per person to cover the running cost of the program.
